The Guinness Book of World Records Presents The Dutchess, the Human with the longest fingernails.
The 2012 edition of the Guinness World Records book is hitting shelves on Thursday, September 15th. Bubbling over with more than 4,000 new and updated records and over 900 colorful photographs, the new book will inspire millions of readers to marvel at the world around them and perhaps break a record themselves. This year’s edition serves as a snapshot of popular culture in the 21st century with spotlights on record-breaking celebrities and royal wedding fever. Chris Walton from Las Vegas, USA, has been revealed as the new record holder for the Longest Fingernails, measuring an astonishing 10ft 2in (309.8cm) on her left hand and 9ft 7in (292.1cm) on her right hand — a total of 19ft 9in (601.9cm). 
Yup, our ol’ homies Smelley Kelley, Scott Young, Jill O and the rest of the gang took Red Meat to the Country Rendez-vous in the home country of fine cheese and surrender monkeys, and performed Scott’s classic “The Girl With the Biggest Hair and the Longest Nails”, which, after all, features the lyric “au revoir”, although you have to listen close because it goes by real fast. All props for getting flown to another continent to play. I never made it farther than Cotati!
18 years ago, Chris Walton aka The Dutchess, stopped trimming her fingernails. Today she has a total of 19 feet and 9 inches of nails, painted a deep gold and holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest nails.
