how do I ask for the gel nails where they have to make the tip or attache gel to your nail instead of them using a clear tip? Does any one know how that is called. I’m not a big nail/salon/manicure person Lol it would help a lot thanks. As of right now I did the gel overlay I believe it’s called where they use gel polish but since my nails are so small I would like to try gel nails.

What do I look for so I know I’m not being scammed..
What do I ask for?
I know there are two ways to do it..one with the plastic tip..an one where you build the whole nail outta gel..and then I’ve heard of a gel overlay which to me sounds like acrylic with gel over it..am I right..
Acrylic with the gel over it I don’t want..I want the it just gel..haven’t decided if I want the plastic tip or the whole nail outta gel yet..
I’ve done acrylics everytime but I want to try gel..any tips..advice..etc is more then welcome..

A overlay is when you put Gel or Acrylic, not both, over your natural nail…When you put gel over acrylic, There isn’t any point to it both products are made out of the same thing, Your talking about the UV top coat, which is what people put over the acrylic for "permanent" shinyness…Building the tip, Looks more natural than regular tips, But it will probley cost you a bit more than if you were to just put tips on.
