What does the nail colour indicate in health wise?

Posted on November 30th, 2010 in nails health by admin

There was this saying that i used to know where you look at your nails and you can tell what nutrient you are lacking? Or something?
not referring to nail polish. Your actual nails

Mine are dark red so that wouldn’t be a good sign…

Gel Overlays….. Any good?

Posted on November 30th, 2010 in gel overlay by admin

Have you had them and were they any good? How does the gel come off? Or do you have to wait until it grows out?How often did you have to have them filled in?

Yes, Gel Overlays strenghten your nails while still allowing them to breath. They are much better then acrylic as they do less damage to your nails. I get mine done twice a month and now no longer have tips just gel on my own nails which adds strength. You can wait for them to grow out or you can put hot water in a bowl then place a bowl on top of that and put nail polish remover with acetone in it (comes as standard with most remover) and just place your hand in this with a towel over the top for five mintues then wipe off the gel with a tissue.

Can you play fingerstyle guitar without long nails?

Posted on November 30th, 2010 in longest nails by admin

I like fingerstyle guitar quite a lot, but I seriously don’t want to have long nails, is it possible to achieve the same result with the fingertips?

you can try but you see when you have long nails your nails act as a pick. so the sound feels very crisp and its sounds like you playing with a pick. if you use your finger tips the sound wont be as great. trust me i know because my teacher wanted me to grow out my nails but i said no. but it is your descion

Question about acrylic nails white tips or airbrush french?!?

Posted on November 30th, 2010 in french acrylic by admin

I’m going on vacation and I was wondering if its best to get the white tips with the acrylic ontop, or just regular tips with an airbrush french? Any oppinions?

Simple. Airbrushing the white on is the easy way for the tech to do pink & whites. Well, so is doing a white tip. FOr best looking results, find someone who does sculpting of nails. They don’t use tips, they just place a nail form onto your fingertip and sculpt the extension over it. But, it takes much more skill to do this method, so that is why the cheap places do not do this type of nails. Most of those people in the cheap salons are not skilled enough to sculpt. Anyone can put a tip on the nail and lay clear acrylic over it. It takes skill to sculpt the white on, and to build the nail so that it isn’t flat, but instead looks like a real nail that has an arch – called an ‘apex,’ built into it. Flat nails look awful. A properly built nail has good structure to it. You can tell for yourself if the tech did a good job, or not. Simply look at your nails from the side. If they look flat along the entire length of the nail, then they did a poor job. But, if they start out very thin by the cuticle area, and gradually reach a peak around where the free edge begins, then slopes back downward and tapers off at the very tip of the nail – then the tech did a good job on your nails. Nail structure is very important if you want realistic looking nails. Its very easy to slap on a couple layers of acrylic and spread it across the nail – which makes it appear ‘flat.’ It takes skill to build them correctly. And airbrushing the white on? You could train a chimp to do that in about 15 minutes. Thats a really lame way of doing nails. Its cheap looking, and it does not last at all. It will chip off before you know it. It takes absolutely no skill whatsoever to airbrush the white extension onto your nails. And that is why the techs who do this method do it in the first place – because they aren’t skilled enough to do it the right way. Go to a good salon with skilled techs. It will cost more, but its well worth it. Your nails will look sooo much better, and they won’t be ruined by overfiling them either. Skilled techs do not use Dremels to supposedly ‘rough’ up the nail plate to apply the acrylic. It’s simply not necessary to do so. This method is the only way they know in the ‘chop shops.’ Avoid them at all costs. Overfiling is what ruins your natural nails, not the acrylic – contrary to popular belief.
Edit: Here is a pic of a properly formed nail. Notice the arch, and the realistic look of the nail? I’ve seen better nails than this, but this at least gives you an idea of what tolook for in terms of proper nail structure:

Fingernails, Toenails & Tongue Show Health Or Disease

2 Fingernails, Toenails & Tongue Show Health Or DiseaseTo get your health questions answered visit our blog http://www.healthydoctors.com/blog . Type in your search words in the search box. Dr. Borkin and Dr. Robert Rowen, MD understand when to use allopathic, conventional, alternative, complimentary and oxidative medicine to help their patients heal and experience optimal health.

Dr. Michael Borkin, NMD is a pioneer in hormone and electrolyte research. He specializes in hormone and electrolyte testing and balancing. For more information contact him at: 888-285-9098 or by email: doctorborkin@gmail.com.

His evaluation of hormones levels in patients provides an in-depth snap shot of the health level and disease processes. These tests and the unique balancing programs created by the trained doctors and lab technicians are incredibly valuable for individuals who have used anabolic steroids, HGH (human growth hormone), insulin, testosterone and progesterone without understanding the importance of exact supplementation in response to test results. Gross dosing without testing has caused many people to be biochemically and hormonally out of balance.

Dr. Michael Borkin is also one of the creators of the science of bio-identical hormones and transdermal (through the skin) creams. Unique creams are created for each patient to restore hormonal homeostasis. The creams are made up of hormones, hormone precursors, nutrients, homeopathics, herbs and electrolytes. Specific electrolyte and nutrient rich supplements help balance each patient’s bio-chemistry in all their cells, including the brain.

Dr. Borkin invested many years in treating the “Who’s Who” of Hollywood and Las Vegas. After studying so many people who violate the health laws and natural circadian cycle (24-hour light and dark cycle), that stay up all night and sleep during the day, he became the leading expert on the three stages of adrenal exhaustion and the terrible consequences of a stressful life.

As we all know, stress kills. Some of the most famous actors, stars and athletes are his patients. They keep his name as a jealously guarded secret so he will personally have time to work with them. They want to take advantage of his knowledge and research so he can create and monitor their special balancing programs. They are desperate to look younger, have more energy, feel their best and perform at optimal levels.

Dr. Borkin has developed a 24-hour test of the flood of hormones throughout the entire body, every 4 hours. A patient starts collecting their saliva at 8 AM. They take a sample every 4 hours until 4 AM the next morning. By studying the levels of bio-active hormones and electrolytes available in saliva, doctors learn a great deal about the health and disease processes going on inside their patients’ cells.
